WildSTEM Is Blooming and I’m Proud to Be Part of the Work

I’m honored to share a recent feature highlighting the continued growth of the WildSTEM initiative and the impact it’s having on young people and communities across the country.

Through our partnership with the National Wildlife Federation and The Links, Incorporated, WildSTEM has been creating meaningful pathways for youth to explore careers in conservation, environmental science, and community leadership. This work is about more than environmental education. It is about exposure, access, and empowering the next generation to see themselves as leaders in spaces where they have historically been underrepresented.

As part of this initiative, I had the privilege of helping lead a WildSTEM Career Awareness and Conservation program designed to inspire middle and high school girls across the DMV region. The experience introduced students to global conservation careers, environmental action, and the powerful connection between human, animal, and environmental well-being.

Watching these young women engage with professionals in wildlife science and environmental fields reinforced exactly why this work matters. When young people can see what is possible, they begin to imagine themselves in those spaces and take real steps toward those futures.

WildSTEM continues to expand through internships, educational programming, and partnerships that introduce students to wildlife science, conservation careers, and community engagement opportunities.  This momentum is a testament to what happens when mission driven organizations come together with a shared vision for impact.

I’m grateful to play a role in this growing movement and proud to stand alongside so many dedicated leaders who are committed to creating opportunities for the next generation.
