Blueprinting & Its' Power To Change Your Life

This is an invitation to dream. To feel confident enough to claim your dreams. To boldly turn them to reality. – Mariko Bennett

One of the greatest and often overlooked necessities of life is vision. Many people are tangled in the day-to-day web of short-term “busyness,” but lack long-term focus, planning, and execution. Anyone can create a laundry list of tasks to keep themselves occupied, but “What’s the end goal? Is there a bigger picture? Is there more to life than just being busy?

All too often, people subconsciously forfeit living to their full potential due to fear, insecurity, or even negativity projected from others. As a result, they substitute genuine happiness and fulfillment for a life of aimless routines. And here’s the truth… Without having a clear and concise vision for your life, identifying the goals you want to attain, and creating a practical blueprint to manifesting the life you dream of, you’ll find yourself in an ongoing cycle of going through the motions rather than achieving endless greatness.

But that’s not you! And even if it was, you don’t have to stay trapped in that mindset and way of living. This is your invitation to dream and cast a signature vision for your life. To rise to the occasion of making and working your plan, no excuses included. To embrace vision boarding and its power to impact your life in unprecedented ways.

Writing Your Vision

Vision boarding is not just arts and crafts for adults, so let’s just settle that myth now. That said, creating a blueprint doesn’t have to be a daunting task. When done properly, it is one of the most empowering, insightful, and motivating experiences that catapult you into the life of your dreams. When creating your vision board, be sure to incorporate the following seven focus areas to ensure optimal success in every area of your life.

  1. Physical Body (Body image, health, and wellness)

  2. Mindset (Emotions, attitude, behavior, belief, and life experiences)

  3. Relationships (Family, friends, network, marriage, and romance)

  4. Professional (Career, business, and influence)

  5. Financial (Investments, budget, philanthropy, wealth, and abundance)

  6. Social (Travel, experiences, and hobbies)

  7. Spiritual (Faith, God, and purpose)

Again, these categories aren’t designed to overwhelm you, but rather focus your thought process so that you dream big without casting the net so wide you don’t get anything done.

Working Your Vision

Your vision board is the precursor to goal-setting. Once complete, it’s time to transition your intention into action because your dreams don’t work unless you do. Ever heard, “You can’t eat an elephant in one bite? Well, the same rule applies to manifesting your ideal life. You’ve got to exercise patience and understand there’s nothing wrong with taking things slow and steady as long as you don’t stop taking action!

Here’s a tip, after you create your vision board, prioritize 1-3 aspects you want to achieve first, and create a correlating SMART goal plan. SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. They serve as a guide to help you understand, what you want to accomplish with your goals, how you will know when you’ve hit the mark, whether or not your goals are realistic (can they be accomplished with the resources available or attainable to you?), how they funnel into your overall vision, and a clear timeframe for manifesting your goals.

After you’ve prioritized your goals, obtain an accountability partner to walk with you through your journey. I’m not talking about someone who will always tell you what you want to hear. No! Get someone in your life who is loving, supportive, honest, and straightforward. A partner who adds measurable value to your life and overall success. This can be a friend, family member, or even a trustworthy co-worker. But whatever you do, don’t go at this process alone.

There is power in numbers, now let’s get to work!
